Our Pricing Promise

You'll know exactly what you're paying before we start work. No surprises.

Unity Power and Light uses flat-rate pricing on every job. We quote a complete price for the entire project, and that's what you pay. No hidden fees, no clock-watching, no unexpected charges.

Why We Don't Charge Hourly

Hourly billing creates problems for homeowners and business owners:

1

You Never Know the Final Cost

With hourly rates, you can't budget accurately. A "simple" job might end up costing far more than expected.

2

Slow Work Is Rewarded

When electricians are paid by the hour, there's no incentive to work efficiently. The longer it takes, the more they make.

3

Clock-Watching Creates Stress

You shouldn't feel anxious every time you ask a question or the electrician takes a break. Hourly billing makes every minute expensive.

4

"Discovered Problems" Inflate Costs

It's easy for hourly contractors to find "unexpected issues" that add hours to the bill. How do you know what's real?

5

Rush Jobs Sacrifice Quality

Some hourly electricians rush through work to fit in more jobs per day, compromising quality and safety.

How Our Flat-Rate Pricing Works

1

You Describe Your Project

Contact us by phone, email, or our online quote form. Tell us what you need: a new outlet, panel upgrade, generator installation, or any other electrical work.

2

We Assess Your Specific Situation

For most jobs, we'll schedule a site visit to evaluate the work required. For simpler projects, we may be able to provide a phone quote based on your description and photos.

3

We Provide a Flat-Rate Quote

We'll give you a complete, fixed price that includes labor, materials, permits, and everything else needed to complete the job properly and safely.

4

We Complete the Work

Once you approve the quote, we get to work. If we discover additional issues that weren't visible during our assessment, we STOP and provide a separate quote for that additional work. Your original quote never changes.

What Affects Electrical Pricing

Several factors influence the cost of electrical work:

Project Complexity

Installing a simple outlet is straightforward. Rewiring a commercial building or installing a whole-home generator system requires extensive planning, coordination, and expertise.

Materials Required

The type and quality of materials affect cost. We use code-compliant, high-quality components that will last, but premium fixtures and equipment cost more than basic options.

Labor Time

Some jobs take hours, others take days. Our flat-rate pricing factors in the realistic time required by experienced electricians working efficiently.

Access & Conditions

Is the panel in an easy-to-reach location or buried in a cramped crawlspace? Working conditions like attic heat, tight spaces, or difficult access points affect the labor involved.

Permits & Inspections

Many electrical projects require permits and inspections to ensure safety and code compliance. We handle all permitting and include these costs in our quotes.

Location

We serve Aiken, SC and surrounding areas. Projects farther from our base may include a reasonable travel fee to cover time and fuel costs.

Emergency Service Pricing

Electrical emergencies don't wait for business hours. We provide 24/7 emergency service throughout Aiken and surrounding areas.

After-hours emergency calls have a premium rate to compensate our electricians for responding at night, on weekends, or during holidays. However, we still use flat-rate pricing—you'll know the exact cost before we start the repair.

We'll never start emergency work without your approval of the price. In a true emergency (like a dangerous electrical fire risk), we'll make the situation safe first, then provide a quote for the complete repair.

Commercial & Industrial Pricing

We use the same flat-rate pricing approach for commercial and industrial projects. You'll receive a detailed written proposal that breaks down:

  • Scope of work and project phases
  • Materials and equipment specifications
  • Labor and installation costs
  • Permits, inspections, and compliance requirements
  • Project timeline and milestones
  • Total fixed price

For larger commercial projects, we can work with you to create a phased approach that fits your budget and operational needs. Contact us to discuss your commercial electrical project.

Comparing Quotes from Different Electricians

Getting multiple quotes is smart. Here's what to look for when comparing:

1

Is It Truly a Fixed Price or Just an Estimate?

Some electricians provide "estimates" that can change once work begins. Make sure you're getting a firm, fixed quote that won't increase unless you approve additional work.

2

What's Included in the Quote?

Does it cover labor, materials, permits, inspections, and cleanup? Or will you face additional charges for things that should have been included from the start?

3

Is the Electrician Licensed and Insured?

The cheapest quote might come from an unlicensed handyman. If something goes wrong, your insurance may not cover damage caused by unlicensed work, and you have no recourse.

4

Does the Work Meet Current Electrical Code?

Cutting corners on code compliance saves money now but creates serious safety risks and problems when you sell your property. Make sure the work will pass inspection.

5

Is There a Warranty on the Work?

What happens if something goes wrong after the job is complete? A reputable electrician stands behind their work with a solid warranty.

Pricing Questions & Answers

What if the job takes longer than you expected?

Your price doesn't change. We quoted a flat rate based on the work required, not the time it takes. If we finish faster than expected, you still pay the quoted price. If it takes longer, you still pay the quoted price. That's our commitment to you.

What if you discover additional problems once work begins?

We stop and communicate with you immediately. We'll explain the issue, why it wasn't visible during our initial assessment, and provide a separate flat-rate quote for addressing it. You decide whether to proceed with the additional work. Your original quote never changes—we don't use "discovered problems" to inflate the bill.

Do you provide free quotes?

Yes. We provide free, no-obligation quotes for residential and commercial electrical projects. There's no charge for us to assess your project and provide a flat-rate price.

Can you give me a quote over the phone?

For some straightforward projects, yes. Simple jobs like installing a standard outlet or replacing a light fixture can often be quoted over the phone if you can provide clear details and photos. For more complex work, we'll need to visit the site to assess conditions and provide an accurate quote.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Payment is due upon completion of work unless other arrangements have been made for larger commercial projects.

Do you offer financing options?

We're working on financing partnerships to help make larger electrical projects more affordable. Contact us to discuss payment options for your specific project.

How long is a quote valid?

Our quotes are valid for 30 days from the date provided. Material costs and availability can change over time, so if you're ready to move forward with a project, it's best not to wait too long. If circumstances change after 30 days, contact us and we'll review and update the quote if needed.

Our Guarantee

"If we quote a price and you approve it, that's what you'll pay."

We stand behind our flat-rate pricing. No hidden fees. No surprise charges. No inflated bills because the job took longer than expected. Just honest, transparent pricing that lets you budget with confidence.

If we can't deliver the work at the quoted price due to truly unforeseen circumstances, we'll discuss it with you before proceeding. Your approval is always required before any additional costs.
