Unity Power & Light installs Tesla Wall Connectors and NACS-compatible chargers for Tesla owners throughout Aiken County. The Tesla Wall Connector delivers up to 48 amps of charging power, providing the fastest home charging experience available for Tesla vehicles. Our licensed electricians install the dedicated 240V circuit, mount the Wall Connector, configure the unit, and ensure your installation meets all code requirements and Tesla warranty specifications.

Whether you drive a Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X, or Cybertruck, the Wall Connector is the optimized charging solution designed specifically for your vehicle. We handle everything from panel assessment to final testing so you can start charging at home immediately.

What's Included in Our Installation

Electrical Panel Assessment

We verify your panel has capacity for a 60-amp breaker and perform a load calculation per NEC Article 220. If your panel needs an upgrade, we quote that separately so you have clear options.

🔌

Dedicated 240V Circuit

We install a dedicated 60-amp circuit with properly sized copper wire, GFCI breaker protection, and code-compliant conduit from your panel to the charger location. All wiring is run neatly and professionally.

🔧

Wall Connector Mounting

We mount the Wall Connector at the optimal height and position for your parking location. Wall mount on drywall, concrete, brick, or siding. We can also install on a pedestal mount for standalone locations.

Configuration and Testing

After installation, we configure the Wall Connector's amperage setting, verify Wi-Fi connectivity, test charging with your vehicle, and confirm proper GFCI operation. We walk you through app setup and scheduling features.

Electrical Requirements

The Tesla Wall Connector (Gen 3) has specific electrical requirements for optimal performance:

  • Circuit breaker: 60-amp dedicated breaker for full 48-amp output (125% NEC continuous load rule)
  • Wire size: 6 AWG copper for runs up to 65 feet; heavier gauge for longer runs to compensate for voltage drop
  • Voltage: 240V single-phase (standard residential power)
  • GFCI protection: Required by NEC for EV charger circuits
  • Conduit: EMT, PVC, or MC cable depending on installation location and local code

The Wall Connector is configurable from 12 to 48 amps via its internal DIP switches or the Tesla app. If your panel cannot support a 60-amp breaker, we can install it on a 40 or 50-amp circuit and configure the charger to match. You still get Level 2 charging speed, just at a slightly lower rate.

Power Sharing: If your household has multiple Teslas, up to six Wall Connectors can share a single circuit. The units communicate wirelessly and distribute available power automatically. This eliminates the need for separate circuits for each vehicle.

Installation Locations

Garage Wall Mount

The most common installation. We mount the Wall Connector on your garage wall at the optimal height, with the charging cable reaching your Tesla's charge port when parked. Clean conduit run from the panel, minimal visible wiring.

Exterior Wall Mount

For carports, driveways, or homes without garages. The Wall Connector is rated NEMA 3R for outdoor use. We install with weatherproof conduit and connections to protect against Aiken's humidity and storms.

Pedestal Mount

For standalone installations away from a building wall. We install the Wall Connector on a post or pedestal with underground conduit from the electrical panel. Ideal for detached garages and parking areas without adjacent walls.
